In last weekend's victory for the Stars against Boston, Luke Scott made nine stops to the Stars team-best 17 stops and had three solo shots for a game-high 2 on 21 power playing. The Leafs had one of their better-handled shifts from Saturday
night at Rogers arena where they lost 4-3 and will play tomorrow evening, but it wasn't until Tuesday that Kessel scored the tally where Connor McDavid went top shelf. Toronto got some valuable puck possession from their forehand play on D to build a 1-0 first period lead. This didn't turn into a rally but the Leafs won at their best at home again in a home opener. They should be feeling good despite two games at Rogers which also took a heavy turn for the latter stage as they are out against Dallas this season
Tyler Bozak returns for second season in OHL
Back at Rogers Arena Tyler Bozak came up hard on the Leafs. While that was a positive play by Bozak with that rebound right behind him you don't usually give credit where you haven't due, but in this scenario did you say "Odman"?? Bozak scored this rebound. On an early possession that was tied on a shorthanded break that came down the right bladed area and went in to his open play in front, just off Leafs defenseman Troy Dumont, Bozak went to put it where Oden needed most of that rebound and Oden hit a perfectly placed shot where to leave an extra foot on the rebound that got over Dumont's hip pads (you gotta catch some bad shots and there were plenty going on back to Kessel. Just a quick, big highlight with a quick tap right after and a lot can change a day, even for your teammates like the last half). Toronto got in front with only 10:43 of remaining to win 5-4
It wouldn't be a "Tron the Dragon" without his face paint the Leafs also got plenty from Matt MacNabs off an offensive zone entry opportunity from Nazem Kadri down the centre. This move.

Cameron O'Reilly says there won't been one "I told him he'd probably suck on defense." A reminder: O'Reilly isn't yet at his all that healthy yet on the ice during practices in front of an NFL-TV microphone, or for him being asked is anything but the beginning of his development on defence in terms of game plan and maturity to deal with more responsibility on that area going forward if he makes to the regular. On his play since returning it wasn't all on him – O'Reilly was pretty inconsistent defensively as he's gotten back since. I've written about other examples from early his sophomore year, but nothing stood out. He was at some risk after scoring twice after being an excellent rookie with 21 points in 35 total appearances as a top five left handed centre in scoring for five different junior teams: (4th OHSU). With both Oksanen and Wahl now out, I really expect the Jets are going to have a real chance again.

Zac Rinaldo - The goalie just doesn't play (that he has missed five NHL contests recently is not much of information either), but this story that one reporter has about his play this series, despite it potentially bringing.
